One of my favorite floats from last year- Mayor Nagin as Mighty Mouth, bursting forth from a chocolate bar.

This was a Muses float- our theme was SuperMuses- each float was designed after an imagined superhero as drawn from local and national politics.

  I'm Tess Conrad, Yankee gone native in New Orleans. After dozens visits to research and write about NO's history I figured it'd be cheaper to just move, and in 2002 we did just that.
