  I'm Tess Conrad, Yankee gone native in New Orleans. After dozens visits to research and write about NO's history I figured it'd be cheaper to just move, and in 2002 we did just that.

  The blog was started as a companion to my New Orleans-themed shop (now closed), and give visitors a glimpse into life here. I'm keeping the blog here, even though I haven't been as good at updating it as I ought to be.

  I still write, not to mention photograph everything in sight, and gambol in the garden. Drop me a line, let me know what you think, or what you'd like to see covered!
